James M. Mosley

James Mosley joined Laner Muchin in 2026 as an Associate Attorney in Laner Muchin's Corporate Practice Group, where he advises businesses on commercial agreements, real estate, mergers and acquisitions, entity formation, corporate governance, and a broad range of general corporate matters. Drawing on his knowledge of corporate operational needs from his time as an Associate General Counsel, allows James to provide practical and actionable counseling.

Prior to joining Laner Muchin, James served as the in-house corporate counsel for an international corporation with Illinois based manufacturing, where he advanced to the role of Associate General Counsel. In that capacity, James gained extensive experience in the drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements, including agreements for manufacturing, sales, distribution, vendor and purchase, trademark licenses (aka white label), confidentiality, non-disclosure, non-solicit, independent contractors, and leases among others. He also advised business leaders on regulatory and compliance matters and developed internal and third-party policies governing the use of artificial intelligence with corporate data.

Prior to his legal career, James served nearly a decade in the U.S. Army, where he developed strong analytical, leadership, and strategic planning skills. He later worked in sales and marketing for several privately held companies, gaining firsthand insight into the challenges businesses face in day-to-day operations and growth. This combination of military, business, and legal experience enables James to deliver practical, solution-oriented counsel that balances legal risk with business objectives.
